The app for team sports keeps growing

Keddle started with Ties's football team, with a problem every team recognizes: tracking penalties with paper lists and Excel sheets nobody keeps updated. By now more than a thousand teams across the Netherlands use the app, from football teams to carnival associations and student houses. Curious about the full story behind Keddle? Two core features, one overview

Keddle revolves around two things: the penalty pot and the calendar.

💸 In the penalty pot you create your own penalty types, hand out penalties, and they're automatically processed in weekly payment rounds

📅 The calendar brings all team activities together. Members report attendance, see who's driving or doing laundry, and which changing room is available

Match schedules from the sports federation can also be imported directly, so you never have to enter matches by hand. Keddle also supports multiple teams per user, profile photos, team photos, and push notifications for new penalties, activities, or payment rounds.

No payment provider of our own, on purpose

When we started Keddle in 2023, the app had its own payment provider built in. We quickly noticed transaction fees on a penalty of a few euros don't feel great. Since then Keddle works with your own payment request link: no middleman, no fees, straight from player to treasurer.

The newest addition: a live activity that keeps watch

One of the most recent improvements is in the payment flow itself. With the new live activity feature, paying your penalties gets even easier. After paying with your bank app, one tap brings you back to Keddle, so you never forget to mark it as paid again. 📱 This also just works on Android, not only on iOS.

Here's how it works:

1. Copy the amount and open your payment request
2. Pay via your own payment request
3. Mark it as paid via the live activity, done

Built to keep working, no matter the device

Under the hood Keddle runs on Flutter for the app and a Laravel API for the backend. That combination gives an app that feels the same on iPhone and Android, while all team data, payment rounds, and push notifications are handled centrally and securely via the API. Why we build it this way

For a team player, using Keddle should be as simple as possible: a quick glance, a quick tap, done. Nobody's waiting for a complicated app on top of everything else that already needs organizing around a team. That's why for every feature we look not just at what's technically possible, but especially at what makes things that little bit easier for the user.

That it works shows in the ratings too: Keddle averages 4.7 out of 5 stars in both the App Store and the Play Store. Team members handle their business in a few taps, admins keep the overview with ease. A recent review sums it up nicely:
